How do I bid?

You must first register. Once you have registered, you will receive by email a bidder number; to bid you must log in with your bidder number and your password.

What is Maximum Bid?

You can enter the maximum amount you are prepared to pay excluding the applicable GST, administration fee, or buyer’s premium fee. The system will automatically bid on your behalf, by the prescribed incremental increase, until your maximum is reached.

Do the items have reserves?

All lots have reserves unless otherwise stated.

What happens if I am the winning bidder, but reserve isn’t met?

As the highest bidder you will be contacted by the Auctioneer within 24 hours and given the exclusive right to purchase at the reserve price.

What happens if I am the winning bidder?

If your bid is successful, you will receive a confirmation email and invoice. You will be contacted by the auctioneer to arrange payment and collection.

What happens if I am not happy with my purchase?

As the winning bidder you have a contractual right to pay for all items that are sold to you. If at collection you believe that the item has been significantly misdescribed, you are to contact the Auctioneer immediately. Once items leave the location/possession of the Seller, you have taken over full acceptance of the item in its current condition and no returns or refunds will be applicable.

Does my bid include GST?

No, your bid doesn’t include GST. Most lots are GST-exempt, if GST is applicable it will be added to the purchase price. Tax invoices are issued for all sales & GST will be added only where the vendor is registered for GST & the GST status is disclosed on the auction lot.

Are there fees and charges?

Buyer’s premium, GST and administration fees may apply. Please see the catalogue and lots as buyers’ premium may vary according to the items offered for auction.

How do the auctions close?

Lots are closed by way of an Electronic Timer Clock depending on the number of bids received after the advertised Auction Close Time.

Can I withdraw a bid?

No, you cannot withdraw a bid. Please be careful when entering a bid as you are entering into an agreement to buy the item if your bid is the winning bid.

Is there a warranty?

There is no warranty given on items sold at auction.

Do I receive clear title to the vehicle?

Classic Car Auctions endeavour to provide clear title for all vehicles sold. You are strongly advised to access both Vcheck & REVS results for each vehicle that you purchase, prior to collection..

How do I transfer the title into my name?

You will take the vehicle receipt, proof of identity, and any other relevant documentation to the RTA within 14 days of the sale.
